Dharwad: The less-than-warm welcome that aggrieved parties receive at police stations when they wish to lodge a complaint is one reason why some crimes go unreported. Far from being comforting, the atmosphere in some stations, owing to the attitude of the personnel, borders on the hostile, often leaving plaintiffs wondering if they can nurture any hope of getting justice. Thankfully, these attitudes of police personnel are changing, albeit slowly.

Inspector-General of Police (Northern Range) Raghavendra Suhas has urged recruits of the Police and Prisons departments to develop professional qualities and the ability to handle any kind of situation. He was addressing a gathering of apprentices of the 22nd batch of the Police Training School and the second batch of prison woman warder during the passing-out parade in Dharwad on Monday. Mr. Suhas said that those serving in the department required to be strong physically and emotionally and they should also have the mental ability to handle any sort of situation.

HT: 33 ‘Pakistani spy agents’ arrested since 2016: Govt in Rajya Sabha
As many as 33 agents of Pakistani espionage modules were arrested by security forces since 2016, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Tuesday.
Those who were arrested include 14 in Rajasthan, six each in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, four in Delhi, two in Gujarat and one in Uttar Pradesh, minister of state for home Hansraj Ahir said in the Rajya Sabha.(PTI)

नागौर।कार्मिक विभाग की ओर से जारी की गई 39 आईपीएस की तबादला सूची में नागौर पुलिस अधीक्षक भी बदले गए हैं। अब भीलवाड़ा एसपी एचजी राघवेन्द्र सुहासा नागौर के नए एसपी होंगे। वहीं नागौर एसपी लक्ष्मण गौड़ को जयपुर सीआईडी (सीबी) मुख्यालय लगाया गया है। भीलवाड़ा से पहले सुहासा झालावाड़, हनुमानगढ़, जयपुर नार्थ, बांसवाड़ा, जोधपुर, कोटा ग्रामीण, बीकानेर, चितौड़गढ़ में एसपी के रूप में सेवाएं दे चुके हैं। इससे पहले आरपीए जयपुर, प्रशिक्षण केन्द्र अजमेर, सीओ अशोक नगर जयपुर, सीओ डीग भरतपुर, कमाण्डेंट आरएएसी टोंक, एडीसी राज्यपाल के पद पर भी रहे हैं।

DH:Karnataka's Gudageri among top five police stations
Gudageri in Karnataka's Dharwad is among the top five police stations in the country riding on almost 100% crime detection but a Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) report suggests that it ranks a bit lower when it comes to infrastructure and citizen feedback.
Its overall position in the 'Ranking of Police Stations 2018' was fifth after Rajasthan's Kalu, Andaman and Nicobar's Campbell Bay and West Bengal's Farakka police stations
DH: Gambling dens raided: 126 held, including politicians; Rs 56 lakh seized in Dharwad district
In a major crackdown on the gambling dens in Dharwad district, police led by Superintendent of Police P Krishnakant conducted raids at 18 places, including Ramya Residency and Preethi Residency on Saturday night and arrested 126 persons on charges of gambling.
The police have also recovered Rs 56 lakh, 40 vehicles, and 65 cellphones from the accused persons.

DHARWAD: The NA Muttanna Police Children’s Residential School
in Dharwad, which had run into rough weather due to internal squabbling, is all set to reopen for the academic year 2020-21
The school was established in 1999 to provide quality education to the children of police constables, and from Belagavi and Kalaburagi revenue divisions, thanks to donations from IAS officer N A Muttanna. The then HRD minister S R Bommai had inaugurated it in 1999
DH: Sedition case: Inspector suspended for not filing charge-sheet
Inspector General of Police (Northern Range) Raghavendra Suhas has issued orders on Friday, suspending Hubballi Rural Police Station Inspector Jackson D’Souza on charges of dereliction of duty.
Jackson is charged with not filing a charge-sheet even after 90 days of registering an FIR, in the sedition case involving three Kashmiri students, who had reportedly raised pro-Pakistan and Azadi slogans at the hostel of KLES Institute of Technology in Hubballi.

Bengaluru: In a major reshuffle ahead of Lok Sabha elections, the state government has transferred 29 IPS officers, including many from Bengaluru.
ADGP (intelligence) Amar Kumar Pandey, a 1989 batch IPS officer, has been replaced B, Dayanand, IGP, central range, with immediate effect.
